‘Arrow’ season 5: Should we ever see Rene’s daughter in the present?

Wild Dog -Tonight, “Arrow” delivered in “Spectre of the Gun” one of the most harrowing, fascinating, and ultimately interesting episodes of the entire season. You had a powerful story at the center of it regarding gun violence, and the moral struggles that the various team members went through when it comes to the job that they are doing, one that requires them to kill people and take away that shot of redemption.

While Rene may be more pro-gun than other characters in the episode, he did play a role in helping Oliver as the Mayor pass some new regulations. What made his story more powerful was seeing precisely the impact that violence had on his past. He was a husband and a father, but his wife’s addiction led to a man showing up and trying to gun his whole family down. He lost the woman he loved, and his resulting anger and depressing led to him being an unstable work environment. His family was gone; effectively, everything that he wanted and fought for in his life was gone. He was left to wonder what could have been, and he seemed to be bottling up his feelings as a result of all of this.

Could we get a chance to see Wild Dog’s daughter in the future? For us, we know that this is something that we’d be interested in just for the sake of closure. However, at the same time Rene may be right — even though he’s on the right path and is doing his part in order to try and be a better person, that doesn’t mean that he has a stable home environment. He’s surrounded by violence and despair, and there is very little way in which she can come back into his life and feel safe.

However, maybe there will be a chance to see her for an update down the road — we’d be interested in seeing that, but it has to be realistic. The daughter seeing him cannot be a source of further trauma for her.

What do you think? Should we get a chance to see more of Rene’s history a little bit later this season? Share in the comments below, and head over here in the event you want some other news on tonight’s episode. (Photo: The CW.)
