‘Star’ episode 9 preview: The ramifications of Otis’ murder

We’re starting to get into what we would define as the home stretch for the first season of “Star” on Fox, and as a result of that, there are a few different things that you can probably expect to see. The drama is going to intensify, emotions are going to run high, and for Star and the remainder of the girl group, we’re going to be getting near a make-it-or-break-it point in which everything either going to surge or fall apart altogether.

The title for next week’s new episode is “Alibi,” and that should be an indication of some of what could be coming in terms of content. You can get a little bit more of that just by taking a look at the synopsis below.

Synopsis – “Otis’ murder wreaks havoc on God’s Blessings Beauty Salon, and threatens to break up the family. More information is revealed about Carlotta’s troubled past, Jahil is faced with an ultimatum and Cotton moves out.”

So we expect this to be an emotional episode of the show, but we expected nothing less in the aftermath of the murder. Moments like this are the ones that define and reshape people; how you measure and channel that pain is really the key to the future. There are only a handful of episodes left this season, so whatever stories are still to come, whether it be when it comes to this or any of the other subjects that are about to be broached, or going to have to be paced rather quickly. Otherwise, they’re not going to be wrapped up at all and we don’t know if the show is coming back.
