‘Lethal Weapon’ episode 16 preview: Riggs, Murtaugh consider their futures

Lethal -Tonight, “Lethal Weapon” is going to offer up a chance to have a lot of fun courtesy of Thomas Lennon’s big debut as the TV version of Leo Getz. There doesn’t appear to be any clear indication that you’ll be seeing him again in the near future (we just spoke with the actor about the part recently), but moving into next week, it does still appear as though there is an entertaining and potentially-fun hour of TV coming up. The title here is “Unnecessary Roughness,” and as soon as you see the official synopsis below, you’ll get a pretty clear sense as to why that is.

Synopsis – “A murder involving a high school football phenomenon draws Riggs and Murtaugh into the lucrative – and corrupt – world of college recruiting. Meanwhile, Murtaugh considers a big change in his professional life, and Riggs contemplates an even bigger shift in his personal life, as he spends more time with DEA Agent Karen Palmer (guest star Hilarie Burton).”

It shouldn’t come as a great surprise that this is an episode that features the characters thinking more about their future, given that we are at the moment at that point in the show’s run where big personal decisions are considered. (Specifically, we’re speaking about this through the lens of the fact that there are only two more episodes to go until we go around to the big finale. Hopefully, the season is going to end with some big flourishes, ones that promise something more for our main characters and make you wonder what a season 2 could bring.

At the moment, it’s not confirmed for sure that there will be a second season for the drama, but we’re feeling fairly optimistic. It’s not as though we’re getting much of a reason to have doubt.

Promo – This preview does give you a good sense of some of the humor that’s coming, but also the trouble that lies ahead for Riggs and Murtaugh as they dive into the super-complicated recruiting world.
