‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6, episode 11: First synopsis for ‘Tougher Than the Rest’
ABC made you wait for a rather-long time for some of the first details regarding the March 5 return of “Once Upon a Time,” but wait no further! ABC presented us with the first photo (see above) and synopsis for “Tougher Than the Rest” this week — and let’s start by commenting that “Tougher Than the Rest” sounds more like a commercial for a pickup truck than an episode of this show. Still, this is a story with a lot of ground to cover given that we’ve got to see the quest for Emma and Regina to find themselves within the wish-world, and also the return of Sean Maguire as Robin Hook … even if it is a different Robin Hood than we remember.
Take a look at some of the details below:
“With Snow still asleep in Storybrooke, David and Hook race to stop Gideon before he can confront Emma. Gideon makes a startling confession to Belle and Gold about his whereabouts while he was missing. Meanwhile, Regina struggles with the realization that everyone, perhaps even Robin, is better off in the alternate world where the Evil Queen was defeated. And when Emma inspires a familiar face to help her and Regina return home, she discovers the power to change her fate.”
Sadly, there’s no direct mention of Robin in here, just as there’s also sadly no mention of the quest to find the Black Fairy. We do feel like there’s a far greater amount of pressure around this back half of the season than any other for the show to date, given that the ratings have been on a steady decline for the better part of two years, and if we’re being honest, the first half of season 6 has not done a whole lot in retrospect to inspire excitement in what’s coming. The winter finale was pretty good and the wish-world holds promise, but the show needs either a consistent villain or to come with a really interesting way to use some of its guest stars.
