‘Major Crimes’ season 5, episode 14: First news on midseason premiere

Major Crimes -

For everyone out there who is a fan of “Major Crimes,” we absolutely understand (and agree) that it’s been a rather long wait between new episodes airing on TNT. With that being said, we’re certainly happy to now report that the wait is just about at an end! There are new episodes coming up starting on Wednesday, February 22, and given that the first episode is entitled “Heart Failure,” it certainly feels like the writers are giving you a reason to be a little worried. After all, the summer finale ended with Andy Flynn’s life in jeopardy after suffering what appeared in the moment to be a cardiac event.

Now, let’s go ahead and get to sharing the official synopsis for the hour — after all, this should offer up a fairly good indication of what you can expect to see:

“When Captain Sharon Raydor and the Major Crimes Division investigate the murder of a young woman found in the LA River, their case is not only impeded by a secretive PI working for a tech industry millionaire, but also by Deputy Chief Winnie Davis (guest star Camryn Manheim), who regards Sharon as competition for the promotion to Assistant Chief of the LAPD.”

In the end, it’s interesting that the one thing people are the most curious about in the Andy cliffhanger is the one thing that the show is not even bothering to address in this at all. We understand wanting to keep a veil of secrecy, but at the same time we wouldn’t be that upset if the show gave at least some sort of teaser for the story. They are, after all, the couple that everyone wants to see emerge from the rubble in one piece! We hope that they will, given that the show wouldn’t be the same without the relationship between him and Sharon.

As for the race to receive the Assistant Chief position, this is something that we expect to be going on, and remain a major component of the story, for at least part of the second half of the season.
