‘Arrow’ season 5 spoilers: A Vigilante showdown
While Adrian Chase did recently play a big role on “Arrow” in terms of getting John Diggle freed from prison, it doesn’t seem like his alter ego is going to be all that interested in being on the same side as Mayor Oliver Queen. As a matter of fact, Vigilante may be so keen as to attack him!
On the upcoming March 1 episode entitled “Fight Fire with Fire,” Diggle is going to lead much of the team on a mission to stop Vigilante after he goes after Oliver while he is acting as the Mayor. This should be rather ironic when Diggle realizes that the same person he’s trying to stop is one of the people responsible for his freedom … but it won’t stop him. He’s realized at this point just how much a danger Vigilante is, both to the normal people of Star City and the criminals. Even season 1 Oliver as the Arrow was not so brazen that he would allow innocent people to die without regard if it meant being able to take out someone who was truly worthy of dying.
So when are we going to see Prometheus turn up again? We wish we knew, but he wasn’t a part of this past episode “Bratva,” and we don’t get a great sense that the show is in any major hurry right now to reveal who is on the other side of that hood; also, there aren’t any great candidates for it still at the moment. Just remember here for a minute or so that we have yet to see Talia al Ghul in the present, and have no reason to believe that she could be the person behind all of this (plus, a character this iconic doesn’t need an alter ego). Meanwhile, it certainly doesn’t seem like Dinah Drake is being groomed as anything other than the new Black Canary.
Ultimately, we’ll cross the Prometheus bridge when we come to it; for now, we remain happy that we’re getting to see Vigilante on the show since he’s turned out to be a pretty compelling villain– far more than we thought going into the season.
