‘The Bachelor’: Reading the tea leaves on the Corinne Olympios praise

Corinne -Why do so many people associated with “The Bachelor” keep praising Corinne Olympios? It’s a question that we do see bandied about here and there, mostly in the wake of people like Nick Viall and the show’s host Chris Harrison refusing to commentate on her in the same way that some of the viewers for the ABC show are at the moment. They’re choosing instead to keep a very political bottom-line on her, with both parties praising her for her confidence and trying to go and get precisely what she wants.

So why isn’t anyone associated with the show trying to bury her further, especially given how unpopular she seems to be with many viewers out there? There does appear to be a few different reasons for this.

1. She’s going to be on “Bachelor in Paradise” – This isn’t confirmed, but it seems extremely likely. Note that Corinne will NOT be the next star of “The Bachelorette.” There is zero reason for the show to go in that direction, as they’d want someone far more universally loved for the role. However, she’s a lock for the other spin-off provided that Corinne wants to do it. (We don’t get the indication that she is over the show, given that she’s appeared on “Ellen” to talk about it.)

2. She makes headlines – They don’t want to discourage ridiculous behavior, mostly because that could discourage other women in the future.

3. They know the real her – Remember, it is fairly often that people do get exaggerated on TV for dramatic effect.

4. They’re just not mean people – Remember that we’re in a society right now that is progressively more and more nasty. There may just be something to people not being all that interested in coming down on anyone for being silly and overly aggressive towards a guy on a reality TV show. There are far bigger problems going on in the world.
