‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Castle’ alum Nathan Fillion signs up
Even though you’re not getting a chance at present to see Nathan Fillion on a weekly basis on network TV, we are still getting plenty of opportunities to see him here and there. The former “Castle” star is in the midst of an arc on “Modern Family” as weatherman Rainer Shine, and he also just landed another comedy gig on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” that seems to very much suit his sensibility. Also, it reminds us a good deal of the brilliant-but-canceled show “The Grinder.”
As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, Fillion will appear on an upcoming episode airing later this spring playing the part of Mark Devereaux, the star of a “Law & Order” style show entitled “Serve & Protect.” After a crime occurs on the set of this said show, we’re going to be seeing the Mark character do what he can to help with the case, really to the point where he acts almost as though he is an active officer of the law. We’ve seen Fillion do something similar many times before on “Castle,” so we figure that this is going to be very much hilarious.
The next new episode of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” is going to be coming your way onto Fox a little bit later this April, as we’re going to end up potentially seeing precisely what happens with Gina almost right away. You have to remember that she was hit by a bus, which more often than not would end up killing someone. The only reason that it may not in this instance is simply because she is Gina, and there are times in which it seems like she comes from some sort of supernatural realm.
In looking now more towards the future of Fillion in general, it’s going to be rather interesting to see precisely what comes next for him. while he doesn’t necessarily need a full-time gig for the fall, we imagine that there are a number of producers and studios out there that will consider him in high demand for a pilot.
