‘Doctor Who’ season 10 spoilers: Michelle Gomez to return before Peter Capaldi exit

Doctor Who -While it may be rather sad to know that Peter Capaldi is departing at the end of this season of “Doctor Who” (plus the upcoming Christmas Special), we are at least happy to know that the BBC is bringing back one of his most notable adversaries before he says farewell: Michelle Gomez as Missy a.k.a. The Master.

Gomez confirmed her appearance on the upcoming season in the video below, where the show does its best to make it appear as though she has now accepted the position of “humble crew member.” She’s painting seemingly a part of the Tardis, though this is of course just lovely misdirection. The Master is one of The Doctor’s most noteworthy adversaries, and as a result of that it will be interesting to see how she incorporates herself into the story that is coming up.

One other thing that could be rather interesting to know moving forward is whether or not the end of Capaldi’s time as The Doctor also means the end of Gomez’s time as this character. Given that there is a new showrunner coming aboard in Chris Chibnall, it’s not unheard of to think that he may try to get his own version of several iconic characters on the show. Personally, we would like to see more of Gomez here just because she is so wonderful in the role, and there doesn’t appear to be any sort of overt reason to shift her away from the show in the near future.

The new season of “Doctor Who” is going to be premiering this April, so the great news now is simply that you’re not going to be waiting for some extreme period of time now in order to find out what’s coming next. We will have some further news on the show as soon as it is available.
