‘The Voice UK’ preview: Watch will.i.am (accidentally) press his button

Voice -Let this be a lesson to future coaches for “The Voice” franchise really all around the world: If you’re going to try and clean off your button, it’s probably a good idea to make sure you don’t do it in the middle of a performance.

The video below is a sneak peek from Saturday’s new episode of the show, which features one of the funnier blind audition moments that we’ve seen in some time. Midway through a blind audition, Will decides to give his button a little bit of a spit-shine, only to accidentally light it up midway through. His reaction to realizing what he’s done is almost akin to him seeing a ghost — it seems to genuinely spook him, which is why we’re not playing up a conspiracy angle here in saying that Will did this intentionally to get a big reaction. (He does at times like to turn his button pushes into theater.)

Here’s what would make this exceptionally hilarious over the course of this season — he ends up working with this person (who he may not have turned for otherwise), and the two end up winning the show. It would be awkward if this is the only turn this guy gets, and he knows that it was all by virtue of a mistake that he’s there. Then again, isn’t it better to move to the next round than it is to not move forward at all? We certainly like to think so. It will at the very least make you memorable in the minds of many viewers out there.

Hopefully, though, this person just ends up getting someone else to turn, and doesn’t have to move forward with this in the back of their mind at all. We have to think that this would be very much preferred than the situation it appears that they’re being forced into otherwise.

What do you think is going to happen as a result of this chair-turn, and what do you think about Will’s reaction? Share now in some of the comments, and be sure to head over here to get some further news when it comes to “The Voice UK.” (Photo: ITV.)
