‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 4, episode 6 preview: Ichabod, Jenny return home
The fourth season of “Sleepy Hollow” already gave us a wide array of twists and turns in the past few weeks, and that is something that is only going to accelerate moving forward.
What’s especially interesting about next week’s “Homecoming,” though, is that it combines a little bit of the future and a little bit of the past as the same exact time. After all, we’re going to be heading back to Sleepy Hollow as Ichabod and Jenny are going to realize that they have some unfinished business there.
Synopsis – “When the team realizes that the talisman which Dreyfuss seeks might be hidden in the most obvious of places, they race against the clock to find it before the evil forces are aligned. Then, with heightened emotions and bittersweet memories, Jenny and Crane revisit important parts of their past as they return to Sleepy Hollow.”
What may be especially important about this episode is how it potentially allows Ichabod especially to do something that many fans out there have wanted for him to do for a rather long time: Mourn the loss of Abbie. While her presence is not completely forgotten, to us the Ichabod we know would have a harder time with this rather than being so detached from it. The man we know would mourn losing her, even if he did choose to do it in his own way. Even if you don’t believe that there was romantic love between the two characters, it does feel clear that there was at least platonic love and they cared about one another greatly as Witnesses.
Can there be care shown to the new characters, as well? Certainly so, but it remains clear that this is a very different version of the show now, and of course it’s easier to have a sentimental attachment to the first female lead of the show.
