‘The Blacklist’ season 4, episode 13 preview: Is James Spader’s Red in business trouble?
Who is targeting Raymond Reddington? There are many questions that a show like “The Blacklist” likes to answer (as well as a few long term ones that they refuse to answer), but this is one that boils down to the heart of the show. Reddington’s operation is one of the focal points of the show and the FBI Task Force is not anywhere near as successful without it. Sure, Red also has this terrible habit of continuing to get himself and those around him into some hot water, but at the same time without his crew, they’re not able to take out Blacklisters. It’s a strange relationship, but it’s one that often works out for everyone involved.
Unfortunately, moving into next week’s new episode entitled “Isabella Stone,” we are going to be seeing this relationship get complicated. Why is that? Well, he’s going to need the help of the FBI team in order to ensure that his team stays together, and that could put everyone in an awkward position. Meanwhile, this episode should propel Tom further on the road towards him becoming the lead of “The Blacklist: Redemption” when it premieres later this month.
Synopsis – “The Task Force springs into action to find a sophisticated criminal (guest star Melora Hardin) who has been targeting Red’s (James Spader) businesses. An unexpected event sets Tom (Ryan Eggold) on the hunt for information about his past.”
We will admit that one of the things that does excite us the most about this episode is the presence of Hardin, someone we’ve loved ever since “The Office.” It’s too bad that her power here probably does not have anything to do with making scented candles.
Promo – This is where we get our first real look at Stone, a “character assassin” who can morph into almost anyone to take out her targets. Clearly, Red seems to be the next target on the list. Given that she seemed to hire Natalie Luca on tonight’s episode, you get the sense that she’s been after Red for a rather long time.
