‘The 100’ episode 4, episode 2 preview: Clarke, Bellamy face tough decisions

The 100 -

Tonight, “The 100” aired its season 4 premiere on The CW, and it certainly brought some high-stakes drama, some significant danger, but also a few tender moments that we were not expecting. The conversation regarding Lexa in particular was poignant since it gave Clarke a moment to grieve, and it also helped to ensure that the memory of her wasn’t just discarded and left as a part of the past. (This certainly happens on other shows rather often.)

Unfortunately for Clarke, it’s not like she gets any further time to sit back and relax, given the entire fate of the world still rests on her shoulders. Next week is entitled “Heavy Lies the Crown” for a very good reason. One wrong move could cost many people their lives, and that’s a burden that she and Bellamy could each end up having. What makes this even worse is that no matter what happens, there’s a good chance that somebody could be losing their life in the process.

Synopsis – “The burden of leading weighs heavily upon Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and Bellamy (Bob Morley) when different challenges force them to determine who will live and die.”

Promo – A machine is at the center of the episode. Meanwhile, there’s a dilemma that comes with that. Do you take it back with you, or do you use it to save some other lives instead? This promo really emphasizes more than anything the delicate situation that these characters are in, as they’re still having to get used to this sort of leadership on the fly.

The good news is that, creatively, the season 4 premiere was almost everything that you could want in terms of intensity and drama. It’s still finding a way to go strong, and now one of the biggest questions that we have is simply how it is going to fare in the numbers when those are released tomorrow. (We’ll have full analysis of them. Be on the lookout!)
