‘The Bachelor’ host Chris Harrison on Corinne Olympios’ strategic move

Corinne -Monday night’s new episode of “The Bachelor” was absolutely dramatic, so we suppose that as a means to that end, the show succeeded in their goal. They also continued along the controversial legacy of one Corinne Olympios, the most-discussed contestant of the season. She’s been extremely competitive, forward in her actions, and she’s wasted no time angering many of the other women this season. She somehow managed to survive the two-on-one date on Monday night, and a big part of the reason why was her ability to paint herself as the victim right away.

Was this a deliberate move on her part? In a particularly interesting blog over at Yahoo TV, Chris Harrison suggested that many of the moves that we’ve seen from her so far, especially within this date, were as much strategic as they were anything:

“The dreaded two-on-one took place in the bayou, and it felt extremely fitting. Corinne played the game like a football coach, making her best defense an offense. She felt attacked by Taylor at the cocktail party in Wisconsin, and she led her time with Nick letting him know that she was afraid he was giving too much time and attention to a “bully.” Taylor, who obviously was totally taken aback by the accusations, seemed more bewildered than anything. It threw her off so much she didn’t even really have time to get her act together and explain her side of the story. Nick had to follow his heart and give a rose to someone, and he gave it to Corinne. Taylor did not take it well. Next week, we’ll see exactly what she has to say to Nick.

Could Taylor strike back, and find a way to get a little bit of revenge of her own against Corinne? This is the thing about strategy — with enough time, sometimes you can figure out a way to forge a perfect counterattack that can topple your partner. We don’t really think that it will work, but we don’t think Corinne’s strategy is really to win, either. We think she wants on “Bachelor in Paradise,” and she’s absolutely a lock for that at the moment.

What do you think: How much of Corinne’s actions are strategy, and how much of them are her acting out in the moment? Share now in the comments, and head over here to get some other news when it comes to the series. (Photo: ABC.)
