‘Pretty Little Liars’ star Lucy Hale sets new project in CW pilot
Even though Lucy Hale may have just finished “Pretty Little Liars” recently, she’s ready and seemingly eager to dive back into the TV world. As a matter of fact, she is the first one of the female leads of the Freeform series to be attached to a new potential series.
Sources confirm that Hale is poised at the moment to star in “Life Sentence,” a new series coming to you courtesy of Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith from “Significant Mother.” For the time being, it just has a pilot order, but given Hale’s star power we imagine that it will be in serious contention come May for a full series pickup.
As for who Hale will be playing, she’s set to take on the role of a young woman who was diagnosed with terminal cancer, only to later realize that she was going to be able to emerge from it okay. With that said, she’s now stuck trying to undo some of the choices that she made while “living in the moment.” This sounds vaguely like “No Tomorrow” from this season except in the event that Xavier’s theory was completely false and there was no end of the world in sight. In other words, it sounds like a hoot!
One other thing to be excited about here is Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold working on the show as executive producers. Lawrence is in part responsible for some of our favorite shows, whether it be “Cougar Town,” “Scrubs,” “Spin City,” or “Undateable.” We have a feeling that we’re going to see a good bit of lightness and humor in this show, even if it is a drama. We especially hope so given that Hale’s Aria went to hell and back through almost every season of “Pretty Little Liars.” Lucy should get a chance to have a little bit of fun!
Ultimately, we should learn the fate of “Life Sentence” by May, when The CW has their annual upfront presentations.
