‘Lucifer’ season 2, episode 14 preview: When will Tom Ellis, cast return?

To say that the future of “Lucifer” is in a rather complicated place would be making a pretty gross understatement. After all, tonight marks the show’s winter finale on Fox, but there is unfortunately no clear word on when the show is going to be coming back on the air.

Maybe there will be announcement coming up a little bit later, but at the moment we’re not hearing anything in terms of a specific date beyond the spring.

Why so late? There are many theories around that, but one of the more obvious reasons seems to be that Fox is launching an all-new lineup next week led by “24: Legacy,” and they are going to allow that lineup to breathe and play out for a little while. Don’t take this as a sign that the network is displeased with “Gotham” or “Lucifer” by any means. They like playing around with lineups, and we at the moment feel like both of these shows are going to be coming up for another season. It would be nice if they weren’t running into the summer, but it is what it is.

As for what we want to see on the second part of the season, it does feel like the possibilities are fairly endless. Of course, seeing more of Lucifer and Chloe together would be fairly high on our own list, but that depends heavily on what the show decides to do tonight more so than it does anything else. It’s hard to speculate too much in advance, but we know that one person we’re VERY excited to see is Timothy Omundson. The former “Psych” star is going to be appearing as a guy claiming to be God. Is he really? That’s just something we’re going to have to find out in due time.

Promo – We’ve got confirmation of a MAY return date (why so long?), and also questions about the title character’s desire for revenge. We saw him leave everything behind, and there is a specific cause we’ll be seeing him take on.
