‘This Is Us’ sets new record in live+3 data; ‘Timeless’ ratings also improve

This Is Us -Here’s a little bit of great news for those out there who love to see ratings records broken — “This Is Us” just managed to do so all over again on NBC.

The latest results are in from this past week’s worth of programming on the network, and the drama series improved 67% in live+3 data from a 2.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic to a whopping 4.7. This is a new record for the show, and any time that a network gets the chance to see a show rise over the course of the year is something that they are inevitably going to celebrate. After all, this is not something that happens all that often.

While “This Is Us” is hardly in danger of getting canceled (it’s already been renewed for two more seasons), there is some merit in seeing these announcements. After all, they are a sign of further stability and strength for a series, and the success of “This Is Us” can in turn benefit other shows that air around it.

While we cannot draw all that strong of a correlation between this show and another on the network in “Timeless,” it’s still worth noting that the latest episode of that show improved from a 0.9 rating to a 1.6 in the demo. Its improvement of more than 80% was the strongest for any show on the Big 4 broadcast networks for the night, which is a further sign that there are a sizable number of people watching the show. The unfortunate news is that this may not still be enough to ensure that the show comes back. If you love “Timeless” as much as we do, keep watching live! Also, if you really cannot wait for the show to come on the air, be sure to head over here to see an EXCLUSIVE sneak peek for the episode tonight now.

Both of these shows interestingly have one thing in common, as they are each going to be ending over the course of the next several weeks. Neither one of them has a full 22-episode season, which may be a good thing when it comes to making sure that they don’t get bloated or over-stuffed. (Photo: NBC.)
