‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 8: Will Miguel Ferrer be honored with title card after passing?

Granger -

Entering tonight’s new episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles” on CBS, we absolutely expected the show to do something special in order to honor the life and the legacy of one Miguel Ferrer. He was such a significant part of the show for an extremely long period of time, and he was working up until close to his tragic death following a lengthy cancer battle.

If you looked at some of the comments that have come out from the cast over the past few years, it’s incredibly clear just how much respect that the cast had for him. He’s an acting inspiration, a hard-working journeyman, and someone who loved what they did. He brought so much power and heart to Owen Granger during his time on the show, and there are going to be many people out there who miss seeing him on a weekly basis.

There was an element of happiness in continuing to see Ferrer work on CBS tonight, though it was a bittersweet sort knowing exactly what has transpired in the time since he filmed these scenes.

So where was the title card for Ferrer at the end of this episode, similar to what Gary Glasberg received recently for “NCIS”? We have a feeling that there were many people out there looking for it at the end of the show. However, it did not show up, and we feel personally that the reason for that is because the show’s producers and CBS are waiting for the final episode featuring Ferrer in order to do that and offer up one last remembrance.

Following Miguel’s passing, the show released a statement that said the following:

“Today, ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ lost a beloved family member. Miguel was a man of tremendous talent who had a powerful dramatic presence on screen, a wicked sense of humor, and a huge heart.”

Once again, our thoughts go out to Ferrer and everyone who knew and loved him after this tragic passing. The most important thing is that his work continues to live on, and that many people out there continue to be moved by him. (Photo: CBS.)
