Miss Universe 2016: Is Miss Philippines Maxine Medina early favorite to follow up Pia Wurtzbach?
Here’s to hoping, for both the Pageant for host Steve Harvey, that we do get a chance to see things cleaned up a little bit at the end of the show.
So who is the early favorite to follow Pia up as the champion? For the time being, we’re going to look at the reigning Miss Philippines in Maxine Medina for two simple reasons: She’s being predicted as a favorite by a number of people, and at the same time, this country just so happens to be the hub of beauty queens almost more than any other place in the world.
Ultimately, picking Miss Universe winners is an almost-impossible task, mostly because of the fact that you don’t really know who the judges are going to be looking at by the end of the pageant, just as you also don’t know what they are looking for in a given year. The biggest thing that could be working against someone like Medina is the simple fact that she is coming on the Pageant right after Pia, so there may be a certain sentiment from many that the show benefits from a shake-up.
Then again, we don’t tend to see Miss Universe shaken up all that much, given the fact that there is a tendency for the relatively majority of the same people to be nominated on a fairly regular basis.
Rest assured that we’ll have some further news when it comes to the Pageant a little bit later tonight over at the link here. Be sure to come back for more coverage! Let’s hope for a Pageant that is at the very least exciting — this is such as uncertain (Photo: Miss Universe.)
