‘Madam Secretary’ season 3: Tim Daly offers thanks; an episode 13 preview

The third season of “Madam Secretary” is returning to CBS on Sunday night with an installment entitled “The Beautiful Game,” and judging from the sneak peek below, there’s going to be a lot for one Elizabeth McCord to celebrate! Henry congratulates her on getting a potential nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize, and the two exchange in some playful banner before getting into some commentary on the photo that was chosen.

As to whether or not Bess actually gets the prize, that’s something that you have to wait and see. For us, though, we do still feel as though this is a rather fun little scene between the two characters that makes it clear that no matter what ends up happening on the show, Elizabeth has her husband’s support. Sometimes, that is all that really matters.

Speaking of support, it’s glad to see that so many humans (to use his own word) came out to support Tim Daly after the news first came out that he had suffered some broken bones in a skiing accident. This can obviously be some dangerous stuff, so we’re very pleased to hear that he’s turning out to be okay and in one piece.

As for what this means for the show, we’ve already speculated on that a little bit. Odds are, they’ll either find a way to write the injury into the story, or make it so that he spends the majority of his time hiding behind some various stuff or sitting. Either one of these outcomes can work, but you have to go both with what works best for the story, and then also what works best for the person at the center of the story. After all, the most important thing at the moment is that Daly is okay, and he can continue to move forward and recover.
