‘Homeland’ season 6, episode 3 preview: Carrie’s conundrum; the trouble with Iran
Let’s star this “Homeland” article with a reminder: This show is a work of fiction. We almost just have to issue that reminder to ourselves given the sole fact that things are so frightening and eerie in the world right now, and the truth may be stranger than tension. Heck, that may be one of the problems with season 6 of the series at the moment: It’s hard for the issues presented on the show to measure up with reality. That’s no fault of the writers, since we do feel as though they are doing an extraordinary job.
On Sunday night’s new episode of the show, we can tell you that one of the main events is going to be Saul and Dar Adal doing their best to inform President-elect Keane that Iran has not exactly been on the level when it comes to the nuclear deal; they’ve had discussions and collaborations with North Korea. It’s hard to know just where those those discussions will lead, there are clear violations going on the present a cause for Keane to act. While she may not have the full power of the executive branch, she does certainly have a good bit of influence.
Elsewhere, Carrie’s actions are not going to be going unnoticed in terms of Sekou’s case. As a matter of fact, you’re going to see Reda act out regarding some of what she’s done, and the ramifications of her breaking the law on this past episode. It’s not what she was hired to do, and we can easily see much of Sunday’s episode being about her trying to sort out this situation. The issue for Reda here is that he clearly didn’t know what he was getting himself into when it comes to bringing Carrie on board. She may be effective, but she isn’t always that way in terms of following the rules of the game.
