‘Call the Midwife’ season 6, episode 2 preview: Patsy’s helping hand

Patsy -

The next new episode of “Call the Midwife” is heading over to BBC One on Sunday night, and for those of you anxious to get a key Patsy story, wait no longer! After the character was sidelined for much of the Christmas Special — and understandably so, given that in theory you do have to have someone who stayed back while many of the other midwives were off in South Africa lending a hand at the Hope Clinic.

In the sneak peek below, the character takes center stage as she does her part in order to help Penny, a young woman who is doing her best to appreciate and understand the treatment that she is receiving. After all, there is a certain element of it that is still somewhat foreign to her given that she has achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism, that causes her to sometimes not receive the treatment that she so deserves.

While Patsy will look to give her all to this patient (and her impending baby), there is one other matter that will be at the core of this episode. After all, you’re going to learn whether or not the character will opt to go to Hong Kong to deal with the urgent family matter disclosed at the end of the episode. This is a difficult position for her to be in, given that there is so much for her here, whether it be a great love in Delia to everyone she is able to help through her job at Nonnatus House. Our sentiment is not that this will be an easy choice for her to make.

For those of you who are interested in getting a sense of one of the other main stories for this week, the sneak peek also provides that courtesy of Jenny and George, two people eager to welcome a new child into the world.
