‘The Librarians’ renewed for season 4 by TNT

TNT -

For everyone who enjoyed the third season of “The Librarians,” great news — TNT is not going to leave you hanging for very long when it comes to determining the future of the series.

While there are not too many details available at the moment, what we know officially is that the network is officially ordering a fourth season of the series, and that production should begin later this year. Given what we’ve seen the network do over the course of the series’ run so far, what we think they’re likely going to do here is start airing the fourth season near the end of the year and keep it running over the course of the holiday season. This has worked out extremely well for them so far, so why change things up?

All you had to do was look at the ratings for “The Librarians” to feel good about its odds of coming back for another season at the network. The show was faring better than some of the other series on the network, including newcomers “Good Behavior” and “Animal Kingdom,” and it was doing that without a whole lot in the way of promotion.

In the end, we’ll see precisely what happens when the show comes back on the air, especially in terms of whether or not the show will get a fifth season in the future. For the time being, we remain optimistic about it — but it’s really rather difficult to say too much more until we actually get a good sense as to what the ratings are for this upcoming season. Also, we don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves; after all, that never tends to be good for anyone.
