‘Homeland’ season 6, episode 3 preview: Carrie’s crisis; Saul heads overseas
For everyone who loves “Homeland,” there is likely something exciting about a new season. It’s an introduction to a new place, a new vibe, and a new phase in Carrie Mathison’s life.
Then, you start to see everything go to hell. The only thing that was different about this season was that things started in hell for one Peter Quinn, and now he has to figure out how to make his way out of that predicament. That should be tough, given his physical and chemical transformation.
Add to this everything else that is going on. Saul’s been given an impossible mission to assist someone who may not be altogether invested in assisting themselves in President-elect Keane. As of right now, she seems to be a politician based mostly on her gut. She has an idea, and she wants to go with that idea. Advice be damned! There’s something similar to her and many modern political figures that way — yes, there is more than one out there. Just look at the state of the world right now and, depending on your politics, be afraid.
Finally, you have Carrie herself. She’s fighting her own uphill battle in New York City helping Muslim men and women, even if there’s not always a clear light at the end of the tunnel. “The Covenant” is the title for this episode, and in what should surprise no one, Showtime is getting into complete hush-hush mode when it comes to sharing details in advance.
Synopsis – “Saul goes to Abu Dhabi. Carrie delivers bad news. Quinn senses something.”
Promo – Carrie is criticized for going too far to help her client. Meanwhile, Saul has to deal with issues regarding a peace treaty and WMDs. Basically, nothing is getting easier for him, especially since he’s off adrift while Dar Adal is back handling things at hope. Unfortunately, the promo doesn’t offer up too much more when it comes to information on Quinn.
