‘Victoria’ episode 2 preview (PBS): Leonard tells Victoria about Albert

Victoria -

When you are one of the most powerful people in Great Britain, you have to assume that there is going to be attention surrounding your romantic life. This is something that the title character on “Victoria” is learning, and she will continue to do that as we continue to press onward through the first season.

In the sneak peek below (via PBS), you can see Jenna Coleman’s character be advised by Leopold about Albert, a worthy suitor in his mind for her. He does her best to sell her on the concept, but at the same time, she is not immediately open to suggests — and understandably so. You have to remember that nobody necessarily loves to hear constant reminders of why someone is right for you; you’d rather figure that out on her own.

Luckily, we know that there is going to be plenty of time for Victoria to figure this out. We don’t think we’re dishing out any big spoiler here when we saw that it’s clear what happens with Victoria and Albert down the line, and we just have to wait to make it to some other milestones in their lives to see how far they’ve come — at least in terms of their evolution on the show. Watching them grow and evolve will be one of the pleasures of this series.

As for some other teasers we can offer for tonight’s new episode, just know that Victoria is not only going to have to handle a wide array of potential suitors throwing themselves in her direction. She will also have to deal with rioters; this is a time of upheaval in Britain, and she does not have the luxury of getting an easy start in leading the monarchy. She is being thrown into the fire almost right away, and will have to figure out how to deal with the obstacles that are presented. We’ll see where this series goes as we move forward into the weeks ahead — and we’ll be here with more news at the link here.
