‘Real Time with Bill Maher’ premiere to live stream after Donald Trump Inauguration
Tonight marks the premiere episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher” on HBO, and we certainly do not think that it is any coincidence that he chose today to be the day in which he would come back on the air. The Inauguration of Donald Trump is happening today, and in a mere matter of hours, you are going to have a chance to here Maher and his esteemed panel speak on the subject of some of the various events of the day.
Not only that, but the premium cable network is doing its part today to ensure that the premiere episode is available to ALL viewers, and not just those who are HBO subscribers. If you head over to the link here, you can see starting at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time (7:00 p.m. Pacific) a live stream of the episode tonight. Given that this is an HBO program, be warned in advance that there could be some strong language — and of course some strong opinions. It wouldn’t be Maher’s show if there was anything different.
As for the panel of guests, Maher is really bringing in some big guns in Jane Fonda, Keith Olbermann, Heather McGhee, Jon Meacham, and Thomas Perez. These five are going to share some of their thoughts on potentially not just in Inauguration, but many of the other events that have been going on with Trump and the political world.
Ultimately, we imagine that this show will be a reflection of how divided we are as a country just as almost every other form of media is at the moment. There are probably some people who are going to consider today’s Inauguration as the greatest thing since sliced bread; meanwhile, there are probably many others out there who are intentionally not watching it out of protest. We’ve opted against covering the event itself, knowing that we are a television news site and there are probably some people out there interested in an escape from much of that. Reporting on Maher’s show is a little different since this is something we would do regardless of if the Inauguration was today.
If there is anything of note to report on later from Maher’s show, we’ll have it for you on the site. Stay tuned. (Photo: HBO.)
