Did ‘Good Behavior’ improve season 2 odds with finale ratings?
The first season of “Good Behavior” came to an end on TNT Tuesday night with an episode with some resolution, but also plenty of loose threads for a potential story to come. We even heard yesterday that there are some ideas out there when it comes to what the future of the show could be.
So will we get a chance to see some of these stories for Letty and company play out? If nothing else, the good news is that the finale ratings didn’t necessarily do anything when it comes to lowering the show’s odds at coming back. Based on live+same day viewing figures, this episode drew in total a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is more or less even to how the show performed the week before. It’s also right around where it’s been the majority of the season. While this rating may be on the low side, it’s at least consistent and there’s something to be said for a program that does manage to keep its viewership intact for the majority of the time in which it’s on the air.
Here’s another piece of good news: When looking specifically at total viewers, the show improved to almost 900,000 viewers — an increase of around 60,000 from the prior week.
Why do we consider this especially significant? Well, consider that the finale aired directly against the final televised speech from President Barack Obama, which commanded much of the attention of TV viewers and also social media for the majority of the 9:00 hour. Any show finding a relative amount of success against this broadcast deserves a round of applause.
In the end, this is one of those situations where we do have to take a wait-and-see approach. While it’s clear that there is some serious enthusiasm out there in terms of figuring out what the future holds, this all comes down to TNT, a network who has given shows chances to grow before, but one that has also canceled shows fairly early on in their run. It’s a little tricky figuring out just what they would want to do here.
