Just when you think that “Once Upon a Time” is done with “Peter Pan” and all of the various mythology surrounding the character forever, you get a string of announcements that prove otherwise.
First, there is the news that we’ve heard regarding the return of Rose McIver as Tinker Bell, which is something that, for the longest time, we didn’t imagine that we would get the chance to see on the show. Now, we’re also getting the news that there’s going to be a chance to see the famed character of Tiger Lily coming up in the future, as well!
According to a new report coming in right now via TVLine, you are going to get a chance to meet this particular character on the upcoming 17th episode of the season, who will hopefully be even more interesting than the Piccaninny princess was within the classic Disney movie. She’s described as a “force to be reckoned with” per the site, and someone who is loyal, but also at the same time cunning and self-reliant. Given how we’re not in Neverland anymore, part of the intrigue of this character is probably going to come out of seeing precisely how she is integrated into the story as a whole.
If there’s one thing that we’re personally hoping for out of Tiger Lily more so than anything else, it’s that she does prove to be formidable, and she brings something interesting to the show’s history that we haven’t heard about before. When you think about what character on the show at present already has an established connection to Neverland, that’s pretty easy to answer. Hopefully, there is some sort of fun way to integrate her that gives us a little bit more of Hook’s past in the process.
“Once Upon a Time” is officially returning to ABC now with new episodes on Sunday, March 5, and we presume that there are several other updates still to come. For now, one of the most intriguing elements of the story ahead is going to be learning a thing or two more about the alternate wish-world universe that Emma and Regina are in, and seeing various forms of our popular characters there to go along with Robin Hood.
Excited to see Tiger Lily on the show, and do you have any casting suggestions? We want to hear some more of your thoughts below! Meanwhile, head over to the link here to check out our show archive and get some other news and insight. (Photo: ABC.)
