‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Vanessa Grimaldi confronts Nick Viall in episode 3

Nick -Tonight, “The Bachelor” had some of the more awkward moments of the season. First, Corinne Olympios took off her top during the group date and commandeered the majority of the time; then, Nick Viall had to make one of his trickier decisions of the season so far in sending Liz Sandoz home before she could make anything messier. The two had one particular heated conversation after he learned that she’d spilled the beans to someone, and that was it. She’s gone, and Nick now has to deal with the aftermath given that she already told Christen about what happened at Jade and Tanner’s wedding.

Now, we move forward to next week, and it becomes very clear that Nick’s going to have to answer for his history with Liz. Also, it’s probably going to be messy.

The preview for next week’s episode did feature an extreme amount of crying, which is saying something even for this show. Women are clearly upset about Nick not being either upfront about this or sending her home right away.

There will also be some confrontations, with Vanessa Grimaldi in particular asking him why he is on the show: To find a wife, or to just have someone to hook up with. It’s a fair question given her recent history, and something that Nick has to understand in terms of the question being asked. We don’t imagine that too many women are going to give up on love / TV time because of this, but some are probably going to challenge him … and that’s great. The vast majority of the time, these shows are way better when the women fight back, and they’re going to do so here.

Also, it’s probably good for someone like Corinne that the other ladies have something else to channel their anger on for the immediate future. (Granted, we don’t imagine that Corinne will be quiet for long — she’s got a knack for stirring up trouble.)
