Mariah Carey taking break from ‘media moments’ after ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ controversy
In the wake of everything that happened with “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” a little over a week ago, apparently Mariah Carey has forged out a new path for herself. It’s just one that is not going to involve doing to many media interviews or hanging around on Facebook or Twitter in the coming weeks.
In the audio post below, Carey makes it clear that she was “foiled” during her performance, and blames her miscues on the supposedly faulty equipment during the broadcast. We’ve already heard from Dick Clark Productions and host Ryan Seacrest on this subject, and we imagine that this is ultimately going to be a “he said, she said” battle that carries on for a lengthy period of time. Carey claims that there is going to be some further information that will come out about her performance down the road, but it remains to be said precisely what that is.
The end result of all of this is that Carey claims she is going to step away from all “media moments” and “social media moments” over the next several weeks, other than promotional appearances that she is obligated to do. She says that she will spend her time instead preparing for her upcoming tour. This all makes the most sense, given that after she gets some distance from this, it will be easier to move on from it.
Also, it feels clear that Carey will be more than fine when it comes to getting other TV gigs down the line. with her history of record sales, who’s not going to hire her? Also, the level of buzz that came out after this performance basically makes her even more of a hot commodity in one way or another, as there will be many people clamoring to hire her in some shape or form.
Do you think that Mariah’s next TV appearance will get more attention as a result of what happened on “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”? Be sure to share some of your thoughts now in the comments! (Photo: ABC.)
