Golden Globes 2017: ‘Community’ stars Donald Glover (‘Atlanta’ nominee), Yvette Nicole Brown reunite
There are so many red-carpet moments at the Golden Globes that feel really pre-programmed and forced; then, there are a few others that make us, quite frankly, jump for joy. This story is about one of those said moments.
The video below comes to you via the Globes’ official Twitter feed, and it was a beautiful change in order to see Donald Glover have a conversation with his former “Community” co-star Yvette Nicole Brown. He’s nominated for “Atlanta,” a show he created, while she is there serving as one of the red-carpet co-hosts. As many readers out there know, “Community” is one of our all-time favorite comedies, with season 2 in particular being one of our favorite seasons for any show that we’ve ever seen. It’s strange, it’s funny, and it’s incredibly imaginative. We’re so glad that it exists in the world.
Could there be a more proper “Community” reunion down the line? You never want to say never, given that creator Dan Harmon remains open to the whole “six seasons and a movie” idea that first came about some time ago. However, it’s hard to see that happening in the near future. It’s not an ego thing for any of the cast; it’s more of a trying-to-get-everyone-together thing given that there are so many people out there all collectively doing very different things.
For the record, also super-thrilled about the opportunity to see what comes next in “Atlanta,” which was already renewed for a second season. This show actually ended up winning the Globe for Comedy Series, so that raises the stakes for everything else that is coming up.
