‘Ransom’ episode 3: When will series return to CBS?

So far this season, CBS’ new drama “Ransom” has experienced a few turns of scheduling roulette — you never know where it’s going to land, so you just have to pay attention. Last week, the show premiered on New Year’s Day, giving it a chance to get some viewers on Sunday night (even if it was a holiday and viewership is typically lighter on such occasions). Tonight, the show moved over to its permanent timeslot on Saturdays, which is a move that may cause it to lose some viewers just because of the night. Typically, you don’t associate this timeslot with getting people watching, but we have seen shows find some success on the night before.

When is the show airing with its next episode? Well, get ready to wait…

Due presumably to sports programming, next week there will be no new episode of “Ransom” coming on the air. With that, you’re going to be left waiting until Saturday, January 21 to see what is coming up next. The bummer with that is that typically within these previews, we do like to offer up some sort of additional information regarding the story that’s coming. It’s really hard to do that when there is no promo or synopsis out there.

For the sake of the show, we just hope that it drew more than a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic when the ratings come in tomorrow — that’d set a decent pattern entering episode 3. We’d also consider that to be a win for a show this under-the-radar, and one that also had the misfortune of airing in the midst of NFL playoffs. Ratings expectations cannot be all that huge for it; in addition to it airing on Saturdays, it’s also a co-production with many other networks around the world. Therefore, the network is not footing the bill for all the costs and therefore doesn’t expect as much.
