Tonight, “Celebrity Big Brother” boasted that there were going to be some more all-stars entering the house; unfortunately, in the process they also made you wait for as long as humanly possible before confirming anything. You had to sit through another programming, which is probably a brilliant programming move on the part of Channel 5 and more or less a miserable one for everyone else.
So in the midst of a new #Watergate, the end of an early twist, and some other assorted madness (this is the name of the game with this show), we also now know who the new housemates are going to be.
Jedward! – Otherwise known as John & Edward, the former “X Factor” contestants (considered by many to be a camp act) first entered the house many years ago. The appeal to bring them back now, having them play a single player, is to give a good foil to Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, who are also playing as one this season.
It remains to be seen how much this impacts the game, but one thing is absolutely clear: The producers really want to make people like Ray J get their money’s worth that they signed going into this season. There’s no better way to ensure that by casting some of the biggest lightning rods of controversy possible, right? These two will fight and probably annoy some of the other players, and given the fact that they do still have a fairly loyal following, you have to think that they could be around a long time. One of the things that makes the “Celebrity Big Brother” field in particular so interesting is that you don’t quite know precisely why anyone is voting at home the way that they are.
