‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13: Jessica Capshaw on what’s next for Arizona, Eliza Minnick
Mrs. Carter: Is romance coming sooner rather than alter for Arizona?
Sadly, we’ve still got a couple more weeks to go until the next new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” comes on the air, but when it does, there’s a heck of a lot to look forward to. We know that in terms of a big upcoming medical case, there is a lot of interesting drama to be had based out of Arizona, Jo, and Miranda visiting a prison in order to help a particularly difficult patient there.
In getting back to Arizona’s personal life, we do know that there is some interest on the part of one Eliza Minnick for her affections; while we do think that this interest is mutual, there are some issues about it in terms of doing something that could complicate the relationships that Arizona’s built elsewhere in the hospital as of late. In discussing this further, here is what Jessica Capshaw had to say as a part of a new piece with TV Guide:
“As long as Eliza represents Richard Webber in any way, shape or form being ousted or compromised, then [Arizona’s] not going to be able to wholeheartedly jump into something that feels fresh and new exciting without feeling sort of apologetic about it … [She’s] feeling like, ‘Man, really, I’m going to have to pass this up? … This stinks.”
We hope that eventually Eliza figures out a way to either utilize Richard or get out of the situation, that way these problems are not ones that keep create conflicts. After all, we do firmly believe that Arizona is a character who deserves happiness, and that includes her finding someone to spend her future with. Obviously, we rooted for her and Callie as much as the next person, but there is no guarantee that she will ever be coming back. Arizona has to do what is right for her right now, and hopefully there’ll be a time when everyone at the hospital gets along, regardless of her choice.
