‘The Voice UK’ video: will.i.am talks new season, coaches, and more
The premiere of “The Voice UK” is going to be on ITV this weekend before you know it, and there are some things that are going to be different. For one, you’ve got a new network in ITV playing host to the program, you’ve got new coaches in Gavin Rossdale and Jennifer Hudson, and then also a new twist in that if you don’t get anyone to turn around for you, then all of a sudden you find yourself in that super-awkward spot where you have to leave without getting anything resembling a real critique.
There are a few other things that are staying the same, as well. For example, will.i.am is one of the main judges on the show, Sir Tom Jones is back, and Emma Willis is there once more as a coach. We also get claims aplenty in the video below about trying to find a superstar, which is not something that has transpired since the beginning of the series in Britain.
We will say that the video below is fun, and it does give us a good sense of the coaches’ personality. There is still something that is really interesting about seeing the enthusiasm the coaches have after they push their button and see an artist for the first time — also, Will probably is the most-entertaining button-presser in the history of all button-pressers. He really treats that as an art form.
Also, it does appear as though we’re going to see some fun stuff from Hudson and Rossdale, who are coming on the show with a lot of knowledge and energy. If there is one thing that we consider to be especially interesting about the show this year, it is that you have people who have all been working in the industry for a rather long time. None of these people have flash-in-the-pan careers, and that could make every artist feel like a coach can help them.
