‘The Blacklist’ season 4 spoilers: The latest on Liz and Red
Given that Liz Keen and Raymond Reddington are at the heart of “The Blacklist,” it does only make sense that the return of the show to NBC would focus heavily in some way on the dynamic between the two of them. Without Alexander Kirk coming back, it refocuses the show somewhat, and you have to imagine that there will be some other twists / turns on the way soon.
As a matter of fact, we’ve got some more evidence that one of these said twists is coming sooner rather than later. Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Jon Bokenkamp had the following to say about one big Liz / Red twist that will be coming up on the show sooner rather than later:
“I don’t want to say too much about the Red/Liz dynamic, but I will say that Red has a surprise in mind for Liz when we return, and it is going to change her relationship with the task force.”
What does this mean? Maybe they are going to establish a further connection between her and the Task Force, and we’re going to see a show that structurally feels more like the first couple of seasons. Or, maybe Red ends up pushing her further away. One of the interesting things about this show is that it’s always evolving in some way, so we’re pretty sure that the latest permutation is going to feel very much different than some of the ones that have come before — even if there are some similarities.
For us, at this point there would be an appeal to getting back to the early days of Liz and Red working together, and with the Task Force more closely involved. We’re not sure everything that has transpired since can be water under the bridge, but we’re interested in finding out.

I don’t care if Spader is supposed to be the “star” of this show he’s the weak link to me. I watch for Liz and Tom and while Tom is not a great person either he at least has some redeeming qualities. Red is a sociopath who should be put to death for murdering anyone he feels like killing. When Tom leaves it will be my last episode. I wanted to leave when I heard about the stupid spin off but the second Red shot MR Kaplan , Red became unredeemable and I know longer have any interest in watching this show.
