‘Gotham’ season 3: Who could die before season’s end?

Gotham -The second half of “Gotham” season 3 is not going to begin for another couple of weeks, but we don’t want to deprive you in terms of reading material while you wait! This is why today, we’ve decided to spend a little bit of time talking about one of the most grim subjects possible when it comes to this show: Death. It’s inevitable, and we know that it’s coming. The larger question here is mostly who is the most-likely to go among the remaining characters, and how in the world it could happen.

Let’s start with the characters who are absolutely safe: Jim Gordon, Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle, Oswald Cobblepot, and Edward Nygma. Of the regulars, these five are so valuable to all notions of modern Batman that losing them now feels unacceptable. The same should be said for Alfred and Lucius Fox; while you could kill them, it’s hard to imagine that happening without making a number of people turn into Jerome in a fit of insanity.

Here are the people who we could in some universe see going by the end of the season.

Harvey Bullock – We’d hate it, but the show isn’t giving Donal Logue enough to do and in order for Jim to eventually become Commissioner Gordon at the GCPD, he’s gotta find a way to move up the ranks somehow. That could mean becoming Captain, so unless he takes Harvey’s job away from him we do have some reasons to be concerned.

Lee Thompkins – Morena Baccarin has a potential pilot elsewhere, and making Jim unhinged may be best if your goal is to have the show be as crazy as possible.

Butch Gilzean – He’s a character specifically for the show, and with that, you have to assume there’s a possibility that you won’t be around too much longer.

Barbara Kean – She’s come into her own as a character, and yet simultaneously, it’s hard sometimes to figure out where her place is in the world. If she really does work with Nygma to rule the “Gotham” underworld, it’s easy to see how something could happen to her.

Tabitha Galavan – She does exist within the DC world during the age of Batman, but Tigress may not be so essential a character that the show would desperately try to keep her around.

Ivy – This would likely be the most controversial of the show’s decisions, but with all of the departures that have been made between this character and the source material, couldn’t you just claim that this is not the same Ivy from the comics? That character wasn’t even named Ivy at all in the source material! Maybe just write her off and introduce a new version elsewhere.
