‘Bones’ season 12 gives a toast to … toasts in new video

You gotta love how Fox is promoting the final season of “Bones,” and that is by focusing on the one thing that made us such a fan of it in the first place: The fun. While there were many serious moments in the show and several-jerkers, one of the reasons why so many episodes worked is that there was a certain lightness about them. You knew that you would see the characters solve a case over the course of an episode, and at the same time, get to know the characters and have a laugh or two.

Fox released on New Year’s Day the new mash-up clip below, and odds are that this one will really make you laugh given that we get a pretty clear reminder that these are people who like to toast to a lot of things! It’s a highlight reel of some of the greatest ones through twelve seasons, complete with a quip about how toasts are in some ways kind of Brennan’s thing.

Will we see more of these in the final season? After watching this, we certainly hope so — it may be even more of a hallmark of the show than we ever even realized before right now.

The importance of a toast from a storytelling standpoint should not be minimized, and that is precisely why we bring it up here. This is meant to reflect on the past, to show gratitude, and extend warm wishes in the future. It’s also a way to show in a very short period of time the friendship that exists between many of the main characters on the show. You often don’t have more time at the end of an episode to show extended moments of friendship, and this is a great way to wrap things up.
