‘MacGyver’ episode 12 photo: First look at Murdoc’s return

Unfortunately, we are yet again looking at a Friday night this week without a new episode of “MacGyver” to enjoy, but rest assured that 2016 is going to be kicked off the right way, and that’s with a new installment airing on CBS January 6! This episode is entitled “Screwdriver,” and you’re getting a who’s who of notable guest stars coming back to the show.

It feels right to begin here with Murdoc (David Dastmalchian), given that he is the person featured in the photo above alongside Riley (Tristin Mays) and Bozer (Justin Hires). He’s the most dangerous adversary we’ve seen Angus MacGyver (Lucas Till) battle to date, and we have to imagine that the reunion between him and Bozer is not exactly a welcome one. It’s because of Murdoc that he even is a part of this world now, and he’s seen first-hand how terrifying this guy is.

As for how Murdoc behind bars is going to become integral to this story, that remains to be seen, but he is not the only notable guest star who will be returning to the episode. Mac’s own ex Nikki (Tracy Spiridakos) is going to be returning in some form, and the same goes for Sarah Adler (Amy Acker). Basically, this is an episode that is giving you stories tied to several major characters, which certainly suggests it could be one of the most important episodes to date.

One thing worth noting, just in case you haven’t heard it before now, is that we’re currently at the halfway point of this 22-episode season. We’ve gotten through the period of the season where we’ve gotten to know everyone, and now some of the stories can start to further accelerate.
