Showtime puts ‘Homeland’ season 6 premiere online for subscribers

Homeland -Just in case you’re hurting for some quality programming to watch over the course of the New Year’s holiday, Showtime has you covered — provided that you are a subscriber to the network.

Over two weeks before “Homeland” season 6 will premiere on the network, the premiere episode is now available for streaming, via their On-Demand platform, or on Showtime Anytime. In the past, we’ve seen the network put up free versions of premiere episodes on YouTube, but that has not happened as of yet. It’s possible it will before January 15, but there are no guarantees of anything.

This season is the first for the show to air in the month of January, and it is also the first in several years to filmed for the most part in the United States. While it seems wrong to say that we are going to see per se a reinvention of Carrie Mathison, she is going to be in a much different place in her life than she’s been before. She’s now going to be working to assist Muslims in the United States using much of her training overseas at a firm, and while at first it will feel like she’s separated herself from the FBI, Saul’s path will eventually collide with her own as he travels to the city in order to help prepare the new President-elect of the United States. The uncertainty of this period will weigh on everyone, especially as this President-elect shows some unpredictable tendencies.

This season is set to be timely, and at the same time, to also touch on a variety of important themes and threats that could be present in the country. As we reported recently, the show is not coming into this season with the goal of trying to create new problems for the country by highlighting a problem that isn’t there; home-grown terrorism could be a key subject point as much as anything.
