‘Vikings’ season 4, episode 15 video: Ragnar, Ivar, and a future on the edge

Anyone who understands Viking history probably knows a thing or two about what could be coming up on Wednesday night’s new episode of History’s “Vikings.” Basically, we are going to see our characters at a precipice, one that could end up leading to one of the most-shocking events in the entire history of the show.

We cannot confirm at the moment whether or not anything of this magnitude will for-sure be happening; however, the promo below certainly makes it clear that “everything will change” when it comes to the show over the course of the hour ahead. We get glimpses at what could be a battle, but nothing that signifies that any one thing in particular will be transpiring.

More than anything else, our hope for this story is merely that no matter what happens, it moves us on a character level — we know that this is a show that can do violence incredibly well, and also tackle events with as much historically accuracy as possible. We would just argue that the stories that are the most effective for it are the ones that cling to the performances and, despite this taking place many centuries ago, still make you feel for all of the people involved and relate to them as though they were alive today.

Out of fear of spoiling anything, the one thing we’ll say to go along with this promo is that there is definitely a reason to be worried about the fate of at least one major character — if the moment doesn’t happen within this episode, there is a reasonably good chance of it coming at some point in the weeks to come. There are only a small group of episodes still in season 4, and we’d be shocked if the moment doesn’t happen until season 5. Even if this character doesn’t make it to this said part of the story, we do think that there are plenty of other reasons to keep watching.
