‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: When will Nick Viall head to a colder climate?

Nick -If you look at the vast majority of seasons for “The Bachelor,” they tend to venture towards warmer climates as the seasons progress. There are some exceptions to the rule here and there, but for the most part, it simply makes sense for the ABC show to go to the tropics. After all, what they typically want with this show more than anything else is excuses for the leading man and his women to strip down to skimpy clothing and kiss repeatedly while they say all sorts of sweet nothings.

Now that we’ve said that, let’s go ahead and make it clear that there are some surprises that are coming with what the show is doing this year — they’re heading to Lapland for the final three! Take a look at what ABC had to say in an official press release:

“The hometown dates are filled with emotional revelations, but in a 180-degree turn, the final three bachelorettes travel to Lapland, Finland, for the unpredictable overnight dates where the relationships have a chance to flourish and more surprises await the unsuspecting Bachelor. Will Nick open his heart and find the woman of his dreams who will love him back?”

For those who haven’t heard much about Lapland, it is a beautiful region that is known for its forests, lakes, cabins, and beautiful views of the northern lights. It also happens to be regarded by many people across Europe as the home of Santa Claus, with the city of Rovaniemi getting into the Christmas spirit with their own village and many different locations themed around the Jolly Old Elf. We don’t have a feeling that Nick will be paying the Big Guy a visit while he’s there, though, mostly because it is probably pretty clear at this point whether or not he’s been naughty or nice…

As for whether or not there will be a more tropical location for the final two this season, that remains to be seen.
