‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 18 spoilers: A business empire is threatened
While it’s been a rather-long time at this point since we had a chance to see a new episode of “Law & Order: SVU” on the air, at least the fine folks over at NBC are doing a good job giving us a little bit of insight into what you can expect to see from some of their upcoming stories.
With that, we come to you with the first bit of insight from the upcoming January 18 episode entitled “Decline and Fall,” which is notable mostly because you’ve got a rape case that could threaten an entire business empire. A bartender will accuse a member of a super-powerful family, one that is a titan within the retail world, of rape; as a result of that, this said family will “close ranks” and make it incredibly difficult for Benson or anyone else to uncover the truth.
The information that NBC released from this episode is still for the most part rather scarce, which is what makes it a bit more challenging to have a whole picture of what sort of themes the show is trying to explore. Is this an episode that is meant to be about how the wealthy are able to better shield themselves from police interrogation, or a take-down specifically of people within this particular world? Anytime you hear about a powerful business family these days, we imagine that certain names are going to come to mind; however, we’re not sure this episode is meant as a “ripped from the headlines” story based on one person in particular.
Hopefully, we’ll get more clarity as we get closer to this episode airing. For now, remember that the next episode airs a week from Wednesday, and it’s looking as though the entire month of January is going to be littered with new episodes. After such a long month of waiting, we imagine that the stories ahead will be worth it.

I am looking forward to SVU coming back. I think there were only 8 episodes so far. I would hope that it could help Blindspot a little bit with its ratings, but that didn’t really happen in the fall. Let’s hope that everyone makes it thru the season, especially since there are only 5 main characters left in the show. Season 19 is almost a lock. That is great NEWS.
