‘The Bachelor’ spotlight: Meet Elizabeth Whitelaw, Dallas resident and marketing manager

Elizabeth -Out of all of the various women that we’ve spotlighted so far for “The Bachelor,” Elizabeth Whitelaw may have been the hardest to come up with an innovative title for — hence, the somewhat-boring one above. While she’s got some out-there answers on her bio, there’s nothing about her that can be boiled down to just a few interesting words. Her job is pretty ordinary, she comes from a hotbed of former “Bachelor” stars, and she’s right within the bracket of many contestants age-wise.

Heck, she’s not even the most notable Elizabeth going into this season — that would be Elizabeth Sandoz, the doula with some sort of past with Nick Viall.

Age – 24.

Occupation – Marketing manager. She’s worked for a couple of different places, and we love the irony of this job in some ways — her responsibility is basically to promote and make things sound exciting, and yet it’s almost impossible to write about this in an exciting way without getting into obvious jokes like “will she market herself to be the best contestant this season?” and such.

Location – Dallas, Texas. It’s the home of JoJo Fletcher, Sean Lowe, Jake Pavelka, and a number of other notable alum — and it’s also close to where we grew up and went to college. We know the city well, and with that in mind we’re always happy to see people from the area on the show.

Things to know – Let’s get to those bio answers. When asked where she meets guys, she says “I’ve been into dating apps like Bumble and Hinge lately. I’d prefer to meet through mutual friends or in front of millions of weekly viewers. :)” — which really makes us think that’s into the idea of being on TV as much as anything. She also said that her life “has been a journey of achievements that only I would appreciate,” which sounds like something you’d find embroidered on a blanket somewhere.

There are two things we find very interesting about her: She’s a fan of “Ja’mie: Private School Girl,” an Australian comedy series that we weren’t even that familiar of, and we’ve been working in this industry full-time for over seven years. Also, she has misophonia, which is a sensitivity or a form of triggering that can come from specific sounds. It’s something that we actually feel could be terrifying, so we rather hope that doesn’t happen to her on the show.

How is she actually going to do? – What’s interesting here is that as a person, Elizabeth seems more memorable than many of the other women this season. The problem is that we have a hard time envisioning much of that translating to the show. She does have some ties to Chicago (as does Nick), so maybe that’ll help build some common ground — we just don’t anticipate her being there past maybe the fourth or fifth episode.
