‘MacGyver’ spoilers: Prepare for Mac, Jack to get stranded

MacGyver -

With today being Christmas, this is a chance for so many of us to sit back and be grateful for everything great that has been given to us. For an upcoming episode of “MacGyver,” our title character and Jack are going to find themselves in a situation where they are just lucky to be alive. (Being in a life-or-death situation does certainly cause you to realize that not much else matters!)

If you look below, you can see the first details from the upcoming January 13 episode “Large Blade,” which is going to feature these characters somehow in a situation that is just as dangerous, if not more so, than any other that they’ve been in to date. Why’s that? Well, it could be because of the fact that they are stuck in the middle of nowhere with a war criminal, and don’t really see a whole lot of ways in which they are going to be able to find their way home. Check out the attached synopsis:

“On the way back from capturing a war criminal, Mac and Jack’s helicopter crashes in a remote area of Kazakhstan, injuring their pilot and allowing their prisoner to escape with Jack’s gun. Using a large blade and a water bottle, MacGyver must get help as the pilot’s condition worsens and before the war criminal takes them as prisoners.”

If you do watch this show for the threat of danger, we’re clearly going to have that and then some. We could also have some great bonding between these two characters given just how isolated they are. On paper, this feels very much like the episode that featured them trapped at the embassy, given that they were far fromhome base, and really had to figure out a way using practicality and quick thinking to ensure their long-term safety. Oh, and of course some fantastic tinkering here and there from the title character.

“Large Blade” is the second episode of the new year; the one before this one in “Screwdriver” is going to feature the return of Nikki as well as Murdoc from earlier this season. The latter is something that was first mentioned to us when we spoke to executive producer Peter M. Lenkov earlier this month.
