‘Sherlock’ season 4: Martin Freeman talks being recognized … at urinals
The fourth season of “Sherlock” is going to be arriving on BBC One and PBS in America on January 1, but on the road to checking that out, we do have something else for you on this fine Christmas that is rather fun!
In the video HERE from a recent edition of “The Graham Norton Show,” you can see series star Martin Freeman spending some time alongside the likes of Will Smith and Helen Mirren having a particularly wonderful conversation about being recognized in random places. For example, Will makes it clear that he was once recognized all the way in Mozambique, which made little sense to him at all given that it was by someone who didn’t really seem to have even electricity or many other modern amenities.
Eventually from her, the conversation tilted into Mirren being recognized often while in the queue to use the women’s restroom at the theater, and how Martin was once checked out for a certain part of his anatomy back when he was on the British version of “The Office.” The video is as a whole very funny, and also a rather odd reminder that for one reason or another, Will Smith seems to appear in around 50% of every single video from Norton that we watch — not that we really mind, given that we do consider the actor to be extremely game for anything in most of these.
So why is Freeman promoting a New Year’s Day episode of “Sherlock” at a time that is still so far removed from the show actually airing? The simplest answer to that question is that by and large, it is mostly just a matter of timing. With the majority of the other shows in hiatus between Christmas and New Year’s Day, it makes some more sense to promote this early.
