Ratings: ‘Scream Queens’ finale fails to help season 3 renewal odds
If there was one final way in which “Scream Queens” could have managed to improve its chances at coming back, it would have been by delivering a finale Tuesday night that performed reasonably well in the ratings. If that happened, there would be a new-found sense of confidence in the show that maybe its numbers were so low because of competition.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and it’s now looking like Fox may have made a mistake merely bringing this show back in the first place, funny and creative as it may be. The last episode drew a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is even versus the week before. However, remember for a minute here that this show was up against almost nothing other than a Tony Bennett special, which generated just a 0.8 rating and has probably an entirely different audience. Most fans of the 90-year old singer probably have no idea what “Scream Queens” even is.
While it’s possible that a last-minute miracle could occur, right now we’re calling it as incredibly-unlikely that there will be another season of the show coming up in the new season. It is the lowest-rated show Fox has that airs on Monday-Friday, and it is typically a network practice to cut your worst-performing show in hopes that you can find something that works better. The most disappointing thing about “Scream Queens” in general is that when you look at the cast, which included John Stamos, Taylor Lautner, and Lea Michele, you would think that it would be one of the bigger hits on TV. That just didn’t turn out to be the case.
Personally, we also were slightly let down with the lack of big surprises beyond Nurse Hoffel having a big connection to Agatha. You can read a little bit more of our take on this subject just by heading over to the link here right now.

Honestly, the show is very under rated. The season was a bit weak compared to the first one, but it doesn’t clarify why people pass on the show. I just simply don’t get it. The cast is amazing, the humor is on point, the acting. Definitely deserves a 3rd season.
