‘Doctor Who’ 2016 Christmas Special: Peter Capaldi details scary moment
While Peter Capaldi and the remainder of the cast of “Doctor Who” have wrapped up filming the annual Christmas Special as of this writing, most early indications do suggest that there are some moments that will stick with them. Some of them are positive and magical, whereas some others were a little more terrifying.
Specifically, it seems as though Capaldi had a particularly rough time dealing with one scene while working on the holiday event this year, which was set in New York City. Speaking per the Express, he had the following message to pass along regarding it:
“Being on top of the Empire State Building was more troubling than I expected it to be because we were with a young actor … But when there’s a young person on set, everybody looks after the young person and the older person is left slightly to their own devices … But the older person had to go much higher than the younger person and noticed when he was very high that there was no crash mats or anything under him. So then he had to draw attention to that. There’s always danger but that’s fun.”
We will give Peter a little bit of credit here, given that there are many actors out there who wouldn’t want to get all the way up there in the first place. As someone who has been near the top of the Empire State Building before, we do think that it is a very cool place to be. However, at the same exact time we can easily understand why it is also a little bit terrifying, given that you’re on this man-made structure and can see precisely how terrible a fall it will be in the event something horrible happens. (Yes, the building basically makes it impossible for something like this to take place, but still.)
This special will feature an appearance by Justin Chatwin as a superhero, and will also see the return of Matt Lucas as Nardole. As obviously hinted, it will air come Christmas Day.
