‘Empire’ season 3 spoilers: What’s next for Cookie and Angelo?
On this past episode of “Empire,” we saw a few different reveals take place across the board, with one of the biggest ones of course coming from Angelo as it became revealed, as a result of the actions of both Lucious Lyon and a certain reporter, that he may have held a dark secret from his past: At the time of his DUI many years ago, he may have had a woman in the passenger seat who drowned. There’s no confirmation of this one way or another, but we do think that it’s not looking great for the Mayoral candidate as this doesn’t seem like the sort of journalist who just pulled this out of nowhere.
So how is Cookie going to react to this news in the short-term? We assume that she won’t necessarily be quick to defend him, and she will at least stop to think over what this means. Based on what executive producer Sanaa Hamri told “Entertainment Tonight,” there is a lot that will unfold from this:
“Cookie is, no pun intended, a tough cookie. She’s been through a lot worse than that. The key element for her will be, is he a coward for having done that, or is there more to the story? I feel like she’s smart enough to get the real story. Cookie just wants facts and she’s going to have to get that from Angelo for her to be able to understand what happened. She doesn’t have all the facts right now — this is just Lucious divulging stuff. So we’re going to see Cookie get to the bottom of all these things. As long as Angelo is truthful, she’s going to stick with him.”
For now, we suppose that the thing that we are personally the most excited about at the moment is that we’re going to be getting more of Taye Diggs on the show, which we weren’t sure was going to last at one point during season 3. He brings such a different energy and world into the series, and given how powerful the Lyon family is, it does make a certain degree of sense that business and pleasure would mix.
