‘Switched at Birth’ season 5 spoilers: ‘The Call,’ the premiere, and the storm

Switched at Birth -You’ve been waiting for a very long time to get a chance to watch the season 5 premiere of “Switched at Birth,” but the good news is that the opportunity to see the rest of the story play is out is almost here! We’re getting a chance to see the next phase in Daphne and Bay’s life, and it is going to lead to some rather unexpected changes and surprises.

Below, you can see the new synopsis for “The Call,” the upcoming January 31 premiere that is entitled that for a very specific reason. There is something enormous that will bring the two home after spending almost a year in China, but once they do make it back home, they are going to have to adjust to a wide array of different circumstances:

“Daphne and Bay are so enthralled with China that they stay longer than anticipated, but after 10 months, they get an emergency call and drop everything to return home.

“Once there, Daphne tries to integrate herself back into campus life but finds that things have changed without her. Bay is mixed up about her feelings towards Emmett who is struggling with his own problems. Meanwhile, Kathryn and John quarrel over her job and Regina feels guilty about a secret tryst.”

We suppose the good news for those of you who are Bay / Emmett fans is that the time apart may have allowed the two to gain some perspective; however, that doesn’t quite mean that they are running into each other’s arms anytime soon, either. What we wonder is precisely how Daphne is going to handle being back at classes and getting acclimated to that once more. Isn’t there going to be a little bit of a culture re-shock that is going to come with being back in America after so long in a very different environment? We’d absolutely think so.

Given that this is the final season, the biggest thing we can probably say about this episode right now is that in some ways, this could be the beginning of the end with the show in its final season. We’ll see what happens from here.
